Relevance of Rainwater Harvesting in Kerala
Kerala is blessed with 3000 mm of annual rainfall and is ideal for domestic institutional and community level rain water harvesting. Kerala’s climatic calendar is divided into roughly six months of rainfall and six months of summer. Another influencing factor in the habitation pattern of Kerala is its disbursed rural settlements based on homesteads. The density of population in Kerala is one of the highest in India. Kerala’s westward sloping topography, high rainfall, high runoff, high dependence on wells to source domestic water, rapid rurbanization, deforestation, and changing land use patterns have further reduced groundwater recharge. To this must be added the second-generation sanitation issues in Kerala. Therefore, rainwater harvesting is highly relevant as a sustainable solution to conserve water, replenish aquifers, and to ensure year-round availability of water to meet domestic water needs.

What Our Customers Are Saying?
Hi! I am jomsi Babu, working as a freelancer. I am deeply honored to contribute my knowledge and skills to the betterment of the my field. I like SDA service. Use all materials are branded. It has been said that rainwater is like a light dose of fertilizer on growing plants, since it contains nitrates and organic matter which naturally nourish plants for lush foliage and growth.
Rainwater harvesting is the process of collecting and storing rainwater for later use. This is an age-old method and has evolved tremendously since. Now we have complex systems to do the same work with much higher efficiency.
The effects of global warming and climate change are being experienced first-hand by people. Regions that used to receive abundant rainfall have recorded the lowest-ever rainfalls in recent years. Our world is turning into one big desert because of our activities.
